Antivirus Requirement for Clearpass
By July 5, 2016, all Windows and Macintosh computers connecting to the RowanSecure Network and registered through Clearpass will be required to have a valid Antivirus and Antimalware application installed. The original requirement was only enforced on Windows operating systems, but this is being extended to all Macintosh operating systems. All other operating systems including iOS, Android, and Linux are currently exempt.
If you are connecting to RowanSecure on a Windows computer there is no action required. However, if you are connecting with a Macintosh computer and do not have a valid Antivirus application installed then a non-trial, licensed, and fully updated Antivirus product is required. If a valid Antivirus application is not installed before July 5th, you will not be able to connect to RowanSecure.
Rowan University does offer a licensed copy of Symantec Endpoint Protection free for student and employee personal computers. Instructions on downloading and installing the software can be found on the Information Resources & Technology (IRT) website or by clicking this link
