Join us any time between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM in the SJICR office in 214 Robinson Hall to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, bag some cookies or drop off a donation of new white socks (men’s, women’s or children’s sizes). On this MLK Day of Service, we hope to impact the lives of one of the 325 people who receive a meal daily from Cathedral Kitchen in Camden. Dr. King was a Christian minister and civil rights leader whose nonviolent approach was influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, himself a spiritual leader, Hindu lawyer, and statesman. In recognition of this fact we also hope to have a brief discussion on the importance of service for the betterment of society to various religions traditions.
Please RSVP with an email to socialjustice@rowan.edu if you plan to attend or can donate new white socks or cookies. Let’s celebrate MLK, Jr. Day as a day of Service!
